According to Telegraph, the 31-year-old Tunisian-born driver has been identified as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel.
He was described as a “weird loner”, reported to be a French passport holder who lived in the Riviera city and was regularly in trouble with the law.
The terrorist attacker who drove a truck into crowds in the French city of Nice killing at least 84 people came from the Tunisian town of Msaken which he last visited four years ago, Tunisian security sources said on Friday, July 15.The man, identified by French police sources was not known by the Tunisian authorities to hold radical or Islamist views, the sources said.
Sources who said Bouhlel was married with three children did not say when he had last been resident in Tunisia.
Bouhel had left his French identity Cardin the hired 19-tonne lorry used to murder dozens of people on Thursday night.
